Sweet Highland is pure wool from sheep raised at high altitudes, in the cold and harsh climate. It produces a beautiful coat if it is sorted carefully to keep only the softest. And since it is spun in a combed fashion, the result is supple, strong and soft... aptly named Sweet Highland.

Combed wool is superior in quality to carded wool. Combing retains only the longest fibers, the finest and most noble. The wool sliver passes through a series of combs to remove short fibers (which cause pilling) and remove impurities. After being combed and divided into strands, the wool is twisted into yarn.

Technical characteristics of Douce Highland

Fingering thread
4600 metres per kilo = 46 metres (or 50 yards) in 10 gr.

• Recommended needles: depending on the model and finish required.
  2.5mm needles for a simple jersey accessory and 4mm needles for a double thread accessory.
• Sample: depending on the point used.
  - Jersey knit needle size 3.5: 10 x 10 cm: 26 sts x 35 rows.
  Knit your sample and take its measurements: if it is smaller, use a larger needle, if it is larger, a smaller needle (generally, half a number is enough).
• Hand wash at 30°, rinse in lukewarm water. A light spin in a towel and drying flat will keep your knitwear in all its splendour. Avoid ironing and thermal shock. Before washing the entire knitted fabric, do a test wash with your sample.
