Bossa-Nova is a knitting yarn from La Droguerie, half linen, half bamboo. Bamboo is soft, supple, and flowing with a lovely drape. Linen doesn't stretch, is very durable, and doesn't lose its shape. The more you wear Bossa-Nova, the more comfortable it becomes!
To create this half-bamboo, half-linen knitting yarn, we were inspired by the colors, landscapes, and cities of our South American travels.
Bossa Nova can be replaced by linen (100% linen) and vice versa.
Textile flax is produced primarily in France and Belgium. An annual plant, it grows in 100 days without fertilizer. Flax is grown without irrigation and with very few pesticides. All flax by-products are used: string, oil, straw.
Bamboo is native to tropical countries (Brazil, Asia, etc.). Its growth is extremely rapid, sometimes reaching a meter per day. It is a rapidly renewable and natural raw material.
"Bossa-Nova", wave, wave for "Bossa", and new for "Nova".
Which gives us "New Wave." It's "trendy," right?
Bossa nova is a musical movement that emerged in the 1950s, inspired by Brazilian and Creole music. It's a kind of cool jazz that creates a break from traditional music, such as samba.
Discover Bossa Nova by listening to the song The girl from Ipanema by saxophonist Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto. It's refreshing!
Inspired by the cities of South America, our colors have a story. For example, "Humboldt" is inspired by the colors of the whales and seals that abound in this region of Chile.
