This is our most tender knitting yarn. Enjoy this soft and delicate blend of alpaca and silk.

This yarn is soft and fluffy thanks to the baby alpaca. It's also warm and comfortable thanks to its wool. It has a matte finish with a mottled grain thanks to the silk noil.

Silk floss is made from silk "waste," giving it a rustic feel. When dyeing, silk absorbs less color than baby alpaca, hence our beautiful mottled colors.
Alpacas are raised in the highlands of the Andes in Peru, often at altitudes of over 4,000 meters. It is at this altitude that the hair develops its full thickness and quality. The softest fibers are selected to create a vaporous, round, and fluffy yarn. Selecting the finest hairs provides the ultimate softness.

Composition

Made from 41 % baby alpaca, 30% silk noil, 20% wool, and 9% polyamide, this is our soft and delicate knitting yarn. Baby alpaca fiber is obtained from the first shearing of the alpaca, distinguished by its fineness. Silk noil is made from silk "waste," which gives it a rustic touch. When dyeing, silk absorbs less color than baby alpaca, hence our beautiful mottled colors.

Qualities

It has thermal and insulating properties that allow it to "breathe" through the fibers on hot days and, in the same way, retain body heat in cold weather. It is a soft wool, delicate to the touch, strong and durable over time.
Baby alpaca fiber is distinguished by its fineness. It's a lightweight fiber that's incredibly fluffy and fluffy, a real comfort blanket. The softest fibers were selected to create a vaporous, round, and fluffy yarn. Selecting the finest hairs provides the ultimate softness.

History/origin

Alpacas are animals belonging to the LAMA PACOS species. This includes both the chubby, fluffy Huacayos and their thin, rasta-haired Suri cousins. Alpacas are raised in the highlands of the Andes in Peru, often at altitudes of over 4,000 meters. It is at this altitude that the fur develops its full thickness and quality. Alpacas can withstand extreme temperatures, developing a fine, light, warm, and durable coat.

3800 metres per kilo = 190 metres (or 207 yards) in 50 gr.

• Recommended needles: depending on the model and finish required.
  We recommend 4 mm to 5.5 mm single-thread needles.
• Right side jersey sample, 4.5 mm needles: 10 x 10 cm: 19 stitches x 25 rows.
  Knit your sample and take its measurements: if it is smaller, use a larger needle, if it is larger, a smaller needle (generally, half a number is enough).
• Hand wash with normal detergent and no temperature shock, so in lukewarm water, and definitely not cold. A light spin in a towel and flat drying will allow your knit to retain all its splendor. Avoid ironing and thermal shock. Before washing the entire knit, do a wash test with your sample.
