Do you know about Flax from La Droguerie?
La Droguerie's Lin knitting yarn is 100% linen and Franco-Belgian. Three-quarters of the production steps are carried out in France, with a small detour to Belgium for certain operations.
It's a tall, purple-flowered plant with a root nearly a meter deep, allowing it to survive without irrigation. A natural, annual plant, flax grows in 100 days without fertilizer and with very few pesticides.
We love wearing linen when it's warm. It's a light and airy material. The more you wear linen, the more comfortable it becomes. Linen is cool and thermoregulating: it keeps you warm in winter and protects you from the heat in summer. It's recommended for sensitive skin and is known for its stress-relieving properties.
Admire the intensity and depth of our linen colors. Did you know that our colors are dyed in France? Yes, yes! In the West of France at "Couleurs et Textiles."
Linen can be replaced by another plant-based knitting yarn: Bossa-Nova (50% Linen - 50% Bamboo) and vice versa.

Flax is one of the first plants cultivated by humans. It can be considered the oldest fiber in the world. "Woven moonlight" was its name given by the Egyptians. Charlemagne developed the flax craft in France, making it the most widely used fiber in the country by the 9th century.
Today, Europe accounts for 65% of global production, including 80% of combed flax produced in France. Our country is the world's leading producer and processor of long-fiber flax for textiles. Flax represents 15,000 direct jobs that cannot be outsourced because they depend on the land, climate, and local expertise.
Linen cultivation is primarily located along the coast from Caen to Dunkirk, continuing to Belgium and the Netherlands. Linen is of high-end, clothing-grade quality.
