frequently asked Questions

How do I download my pattern?

The “downloadable” sheets and patterns can be downloaded as soon as the order is validated and payment is accepted. You will receive an email entitled “Confirmation of your order at La Droguerie” (if you do not receive this email, check your “Spam” or “Junk” folders. The email may take a few minutes to arrive). In this email you will find the link to download each of the patterns ordered. You can also find the download links in the section My Account from the website.

Our sewing and knitting patterns are in PDF format and tested to work with Adobe Reader (https://get.adobe.com/fr/reader).

I chose in-store pickup. When can I pick up my order?

When you choose “pick up in store”, your order is prepared on our main site and shipped to the store of your choice. We will notify you by email as soon as the order is ready to be collected from the store..

It takes 48 to 72 hours for your order to be prepared and shipped to the store of your choice. If you place your order on a Saturday, Sunday or public holiday, it will take 48 to 72 hours from Monday or the next business day.

I didn't find an article on the site

La Droguerie is a choice of thousands of buttons, beads, ribbons, and hundreds of colors of pretty knitting yarns. Unfortunately, we cannot present them all on the Internet. This website offers our latest new products as well as a selection of essential items. If you have a special request, use the contact form with the subject “Search for a product”, specifying your search as much as possible. We will do our best to find the rare pearl ;-).

How does the Internet Gift Card work?

You choose the amount of the gift card. Write down the recipient's email address and possibly your first name and a message. After confirmation and payment of your order, we will send the card by email to the person of your choice. You can also add your first name and a short message that will accompany the gift card. If you prefer, we will send the gift card to your email address, leaving you to give it yourself.

The gift card is sent by email immediately after the order is paid with the title “You have received a gift card”. If you do not receive this email, check your “Spam” or “Junk” folder. The email may take a few minutes to arrive.

The gift card contains a code. When placing a future order on the La Droguerie website, simply add items to the basket. In the basket or when confirming the order, click on "I have a promo code or gift card". Simply enter the card code and confirm. The card can be used multiple times until the remaining credit is used up or the card expires (6 months).

  • You should receive an email from La Droguerie titled “Password Reset Request”. It may take a few minutes to arrive in your inbox. Remember to check your SPAM or Junk folder if it does not arrive.
  • in the email received, click on the link to define your new password
  • A new page opens to allow you to enter your new password (twice for verification). All that's left to do is save and that's it!

How do I subscribe to the Newsletter?

To follow our news, to be kept informed of our latest news, subscribe to our newsletter. Enter your email address and click on “I subscribe!”. You should receive an email in the following minutes to validate your registration. If the email does not arrive, check your SPAM or Junk folder. Simply click on the link received in the email to confirm your registration. It's done! You are subscribed!

Where is my package? (package tracking)

As soon as your package is shipped, you will receive an email entitled “Shipping of your order from La Droguerie”. The parcel number indicated in the email allows you to track the shipment of the colissimo on the La Poste website.

Tracking information may not be available within the first 24/48 hours. La Poste platforms are still under tension, which may delay the availability of tracking information.

How do I wash my knitwear?

Machine wash

Some machines have a good 30˚ wool program, others don't. It's better to try washing a small knitted piece of your wool (your sample for example) and put this piece in the machine rather than your knitting. Be careful with rinsing that is too cold. Dry flat. The “100% vegetal” yarns wash very well in the 30˚ machine.

Hand wash

With normal detergent and without temperature shock: therefore with lukewarm water (and not cold).
A light spin in a towel and flat drying: your knit will keep all its splendor.

The soap

The beautiful materials from La Droguerie are maintained with the Genuine Organic Marseille Soap. Biodegradable, hypoallergenic, healthy and natural, it leaves the laundry very soft.
Pour a tablespoon of “Savon de Marseille bio” flakes into a sock. Tie it. Put it in the washing machine or sink with your laundry. The flakes will melt during the wash. Economical, a tablespoon is enough for one wash and the excess soap will remain in the sock for a new use.

Ironing knitwear

Especially jacquards, before and after sewing. An ironed knit immediately becomes more regular. Avoid any thermal shock.
Iron without steam on the reverse side with a damp cloth to protect the knit from felting.

Our beautiful materials don't like:
– rinsing with ice water
– the temperature differences!
– steam irons that are too hot, the enemy of softness!
Warning: felted wool can never be repaired. There is nothing more to do!…

Difficulty levels: One button, two buttons, three buttons...

Beginner

Knitting: cast on stitches, garter stitch, stocking stitch and ribbing, cast off stitches, sew seams, increase/decrease, yarn over
Hook : master the basic stitches (chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, half double crochet, double crochet), classic increases and decreases, pattern with only 1 color
Sewing: simple straight or rounded stitching, topstitching, overcasting (zigzag stitch), hems, sewing on a button

Easy

Knitting: all types of increases, all types of decreases, fancy stitches (simple models), woven thread jacquard (simple models), placed jacquard (simple models), cables (simple models), neckline and buttoning bands
Hook : mastering color changes, crocheting with 2 yarns in a mix
Sewing: iron on, make gathers and pleats, apply bias or piping, slip elastic into a zipper, sew rounded edges such as necklines and armholes, apply a facing or a shaping, the buttonhole tab and make buttonholes

Intermediate

Knitting: yokes, fancy stitches (more complicated models), woven thread jacquard (more complicated models), placed jacquard (more complicated models), cables (more complicated models), knitting in the round (on simple models)
Sewing: installing a zipper, quilting with batting, putting in a lining, complex stitching: assembling a concave line with
a convex line, mount a collar, a cuff, a belt, a fly

Expert

Knitting: technically complicated patterns (fancy stitch and/or special construction), making large pieces with small needles, making a fancy stitch that does not “rise” quickly, doing several things at the same time (jacquard with raglan and neckline decreases), knitting in the round (more complicated patterns)
Sewing:
models that combine several difficult techniques (shaping + lining + zipper + complex stitching), fitting a lining in sheath mode, a pattern that takes a long time to assemble and has many pieces, delicate materials that slip or are too thick, fitting an invisible zipper
